Performance of a Phonon-Mediated Detector Using KIDs Optimized for Sub-GeV Dark Matter

We provide an update on a gram-scale phonon-mediated KID-based device that was designed for sub-GeV dark matter search at the Northwestern Experimental Underground Site. Currently, is demonstrating 6 eV resolution energy absorbed by resonator. With some important assumptions, this translates to 20 baseline deposited in substrate. show TLS noise dominates estimate. After modifying design mitigate noise, we project 5 substrate (1.5 resonator) amplifier-white-noise-dominated device. Finally, present clear path forward sub-eV resolutions, which includes installation of quantum-limited superconducting parametric amplifier and adjustments material makeup our resonators.
